Meet Catherine
I've spent my career in people and talent roles within the legal sector, working across HR, learning and development, and early careers. Before joining Lawrence Stephens, I spent more than four years at Simmons & Simmons supporting trainee programmes and running strategic talent development initiatives. These experiences gave me a broad understanding of how law firms retain exceptional people.
I'm passionate about building compassionate, high-performing cultures where people feel supported to grow and succeed. Throughout my career, I've focused on balancing commercial priorities with a genuine commitment to employee wellbeing, development and inclusion.
As HR Manager at Lawrence Stephens, I lead the firm's HR function and work closely with leadership to shape and deliver the people agenda. My role spans the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, reward, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion. Since joining the firm, I have supported a period of significant growth, developed the HR team and introduced new people initiatives and processes to enhance the employee experience. Alongside my HR responsibilities, I chair the firm's Gender Equality Network and I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
Outside of work, I’m an enthusiastic amateur rower and enjoy working out a good whodunnit.
