LawLinks

How we present this network

LawLinks is a professional network event series, calling young professionals across all industries to connect in person, providing stable foundations for relationship development. Hosted by Lawrence Stephens’ Solicitor Emma Clifford on a quarterly basis; young professionals are brought together to develop essential skills with a view to develop professional relationships for life.

The premise is simple and effective. Each Lawlinks network event is underpinned by a central theme, with guest speakers from the property, corporate and finance markets respectively. The final event of the year will incorporate elements from previous sessions and will welcome all past attendees for a drink’s reception in a central London venue to close the year.

Our aims

LawLinks aims to connect like-minded young professionals across all disciplines, at the beginning of their careers. The networking series of events presents the perfect breeding ground for building, nurturing and growing relationships with a range of industry specialists along the way.

Lawrence Stephens is dedicated to restoring the importance of connecting and networking in a post-pandemic world. Our lawyers from Paralegal to 4 years PQE invite other industry professionals at similar stages in their careers to these events.

What our people say

Emma Clifford, Trainee solicitor and founder of LawLinks comments: “My primary motivation for establishing LawLinks was to create a platform for young professionals to engage in business development within a supportive environment from an early point in our careers. It has already evolved into so much more. It’s now a space to connect with peers, colleagues, and friends; to pick up where we left off, and to open doors to new connections. I’m now committed to expanding the event series, in terms of number of physical attendees, as well as a virtual space where topical conversations can flourish in between events. I’d like to thank Lawrence Stephens for their continued investment in the development of junior members of staff, and for their support in my initiative”.

Lucy Cadley, trainee solicitor in the Corporate team comments: “I’m very excited to see how LawLinks evolves. We have a growing number of Paralegals and Trainee lawyers who can learn from each other regarding business development techniques and, I think these network event series can help to build a list of contacts we can reach out to as our careers progress”.

Theresa Bailey, Head of Business and Marketing comments: “We all need to start somewhere. Networking is something that needs to be honed over time so, the earlier you start the better. Without building firm foundations and a skill set, something seemingly as easy as working a room becomes a very dauting task. We are fostering an environment where young people can feel confident to explore various ways to connect with people, talk about challenges and understand clients pain points in the workplace and therefore begin to take charge of their own business development with newfound confidence”.

Gregory Palos, Senior Director comments: “Our young solicitors have shown a remarkable degree of business acumen when it comes to building and nurturing lasting relationships. Emma has demonstrated this through the LawLinks event series which is the result of  a genuine interest in business development, and has shed light on the importance of networking in the eyes of our youngest team members. It is delightful to see the next generation of ambitious young professionals plant the seeds for life-long business relationships. Emma’s initiative is a credit to her and Lawrence Stephens, and is equally beneficial to the organisations who encourage their young members to take part. I am confident in the successful evolution of LawLinks, and always look forward to the next event”.
