Meet Corinne

Corinne joined Lawrence Stephens as a Director in the Family department in November 2022.  With over 20 years’ experience in the family law arena, Corinne is a tenacious and dedicated lawyer, committed to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients.

Corinne has particular expertise in applications under the Children Act 1989 and those involving cohabiting couples.  Corinne will do her best to resolve matters with a conciliatory approach, although will represent her clients with determination and commitment through the Court process as necessary.

She deals with a wide range of family law issues, from child arrangements orders determining where children should live, whether that be at home or moving to an alternate jurisdiction, to complex financial applications.  She, with a variety of other professionals including financial advisers, pension specialists and therapists ensures that the client is fully supported during and after the case has concluded.

Corinne is a collaboratively trained lawyer and an active member of the central London “We Can Work It Out” POD group.  Where possible, she encourages clients to resolve matters in an amicable and collaborative manner, always having in mind the best interests of the client and the family as a whole.

Corinne is a family mediator, being able to provide a mediation service to parties who which to resolve matters outside of the Court arena.  Her experience in family law allows Corinne to guide her clients as to the best outcomes for the whole family, whilst being mindful of what is achievable in the family arena.

Outside of practice, Corinne lectures young professionals in advocacy and client care skills – “it is so important to support and encourage the lawyers of the future!”  When not working, Corinne is a keen cake maker and loves to travel with her young family whenever time allows.

Experience highlights

  • Acted for a father in a Children Act dispute where allegations were made that Mother was alienating the children and the children were victim to physical chastisement.  After a 3 day trial, successfully obtained an order for the children to relocate to live with the father.
  • Acting for wife in divorce proceedings where husband was intentionally litigious and obstructive.  Matter was listed for a final hearing, but successfully reached an agreement prior to attendance at Court securing the family home for the wife.
  • Acting for wife when husband had obtained a divorce in a foreign jurisdiction, without permission.  Successfully represented the wife in an application for permission to make a financial application within the UK Courts.
  • Acted for a father in Children Act proceedings where the father wished for the children to be privately educated.  Represent the father in a specific issue application and completed all advocacy and court pleadings on behalf of the father.  Successfully obtained the order as requested.

“Corinne handled my case from start to finish with the upmost professionalism. She showed compassion, kindness, sensitivity and gave me strength in a very challenging time in my life. She gave me sound advice and I trusted her wholeheartedly.”

“Corinne dealt with my complex divorce and financial application with real expertise and confidence. I felt supported throughout the proceedings and had access to the best possible advice. I cannot thank Corinne enough."
