Jo joined Lawrence Stephens with more than 20 years PQE in Employment Law. She is a renowned expert in all aspects of discrimination claims, TUPE and collective consultation in M&A. Jo delivers pragmatic, business savvy solutions for her clients.
Jo is the employment lawyer on the Vanessa Feltz TV show and BBC Radio with Kate Justice.
She has been involved in multi-national acquisitions and restructures, advising on the onerous complexities that TUPE and collective consultation bring to business and directors. She is an expert in disability discrimination and the liabilities facing employers in the Equality Act.
She has worked for SME clients and large businesses advising on claims raised by their employees. She represents clients at Employment Tribunal and at the High Court and has worked in the European Courts.
Jo seeks to get to know her clients individually to understand how they work, meaning she can identify where their areas of risk are and support them to mitigate that risk. By developing good working relationships, Jo has become a trusted adviser when it comes to anything employment related.
A sports fan! Jo used to play soccer, before the UK ban on women playing was lifted. She now coaches a junior girls’ team playing in London and Kent leagues. She is a keen follower of our England Lionesses, and watches them play whenever she can.
Jo enjoys family time and tries to keep up with her teenage daughter. She has also run the London marathon twice and hopes to again soon. She runs the London 10k for Breast Cancer Now annually.
Living in London, Jo enjoys socialising, trying new restaurants and attending theatre shows and new art exhibitions with friends.
