Employment

Working well together

  • Helping employers meet their employee obligations
  • Advising on risk management, employee recruitment, retention and relationships
  • Guiding clients through employment disputes and resolving conflict

Employers must understand their employment obligations; in recruiting and retaining the right people, this is critical.  They also need to be aware of any changes to employment law which regulate their relationship with employees: what employers can expect from employees, what employers can ask employees to do, and employees’ rights at work.

Our clients seek strategic advice on a range of risk management and day-to-day employment issues.  Sometimes complex and often contentious, these issues require a calm and professional approach.

Our experience in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, on behalf of individual and corporate clients, makes us ideally placed to provide guidance and practical advice in the following areas:

  • Directors’ Duties and Liabilities
  • Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures
  • Discrimination Victimisation, Bullying and Harassment
  • Employee Benefits and Incentive Schemes
  • Employment Contracts
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Pensions
  • Performance, Conduct and Capability Related Dismissals
  • Restraint of Trade and Restrictive Covenants
  • Share Options and Employee Share Purchase Schemes
  • TUPE
  • Unfair or Wrongful Dismissal
Employment disputes

Some employment disputes cannot be resolved through negotiation or mediation.  In this situation, we provide representation for litigation at Employment Tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and the High Court.  We often defend disqualification proceedings, and misconduct or compliance default claims brought by professional regulators.
