Director and Head of Employment Jo Mackie comments on the resignation of BP chief executive Bernard Looney following his failure to disclose romantic relationships in the workplace.

“Most people still meet their partners at work, so there are societal norms that we need to recognise. The problem is, an awful lot of people do behave themselves, but you get the oddballs who are intent on carrying on like nobody cares and they give businesses a bad name — and businesses can’t take the risk.”
